California State auction for Proposed Sale of Orange County Fairgrounds Seemed Strange

Bidding at State of California auction this past week for purchase of Orange County Fairgrounds site didn't seem to make sense.

 

Craig Realty (discount shopping center developer) was the highest bidder at $56.5 million.

 

We'll have to wait and see whether the highest bidder's position is accepted by the state, whether the state and county can agree on fair use for the land, and whether the proposed buyer at auction follows through and buys the property.

 

Then what?
