Irvine Expects to be America's Safest City Again This Year

America's safest city

Irvine, California, is expected to keep its unofficial title as "America's Safest City."

Irvine saw a drop of property and violent crime in 2010, according to the FBI's preliminary Uniform Crime Report for 2010.

Irvine had the lowest overall crime rate for large cities of 100,000 or more population.  Irvine, CA

Crime rates fell throughout the country during 2010, according to the FBI, which good news is similar to many of Orange county's largest cities.

Orange, Santa Ana and Costa Mesa also saw a reduction in property and violent crime.

Crime rates throughout the U.S. were down last year, according to the FBI, and most of Orange County's largest cities followed that positive trend.
