Governor Schwarzenegger's Proposed CA State First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit 2010

Gov. Schwarzenegger proposed during January 2010 that the longtime sought renewal of California's homebuyer tax credit be adopted.

Unlike the previous state tax credit program, which was depleted last year, this latest proposal would apply to first-time homebuyers only.

But this CA state tax credit would apply to the purchase of both new and existing homes. Last time around, CA state provided tax cuts to new-home buyers only.

Government policy purpose - To stimulate CA economy and construction industry jobs.
